vessel,133cm in height,79.2cm in
bore,112cm in mouth breadth and 875 kg
in weight.Unearthedfrom Wuguan
Village,Nanyang City,Henan Province,it
is the largest andheaviest bronze
cooking pod ever excavated in China.It
is also a rare relicin the world
bronze culture.It in now kept in China

Simple and
heavy in design,the square vessel has
two large handles and four hollow
legs.Its sides and handles are
decorated with animalface,one-legged
animal and Huren Patterns, On its
interior side is 3 Chinese characters“司母戊”which
say to the effect that the ussel is
casted by the owner tomemorize his
dead mother .It is a typical bronze
xessel of the Shang Dynasty,
Signi-fying the of dignity of the
slave owners
